TIS provides health and wellness education and awareness services to youth and adults with diverse programming designed to foster healthy social, emotional, physical, and educational development, particularly for families in low-income communities.  Our goal is to address disease prevention, promote healthy behaviors in youth and adults and remove the barriers to leading strong and productive lives.

Our youth initiative focuses on providing fun and stimulating programming  that encourages youth to develop strong positive bonds with each other, explore and deepen an awareness of self, and inspire discernment in decision-making which leads to healthier and happier choices.

Healthy Kids Out of School Curriculum

The Healthy Kids Out of School curriculum encourages physical activity and healthy eating habits. Over the course of this curriculum, participants will learn how to Snack Smart, Drink Right, and Move More. The lessons encourage fruits and vegetables for snacks, water as the beverage of choice, and new ways to increase active time to help youth  reach the 60 minutes-a-day recommendation.
